What Are Habits?
Habits are something that we all have, many of them are actions that we take for granted, and do without thinking about. Sometimes this can help us - for example, imagine how much time we would spend if every time we got up in the morning we had to learn how to walk?
When we were born we could only perform very basic functions essential for life - to alert someone that we needed food, water, warmth, cleaning and sleep. However, we were also born with a great capacity for learning, and our habits are one of the results of that learning.
Walking was probably one of the first habits you mastered. Even though you didn't succeed first time, and probably fell over, you didn't give up, you kept going. Consider how many people give up trying to break a habit when something goes wrong and they lull back to old ways. If we had that attitude when we where learning to walk then none of us would have got up, we would all be on the floor sucking fluff.
